A real Emergency Blip
A real emergency.
At noon today we got an emergency call from a care agency to tell us that the lady in her eighties who lives on her own next door to us seemed to have had a fall according to the wrist device she wears.
We went straight round but she was nowhere in the house. We found her in the back garden having fallen on the steps up to the patio.
She was able to tell us that she had a bad pain in her hip. She could not get up and it was not safe to try to move her. In any case she was too heavy for us.
The home care service called an ambulence but we were told it would be two and a haif hours.
Lots of duvets were brought out. We knew she was diabetic so we found jelly babies and orange juice.
More neighbours were recruited including one who was a retired nurse. After more phone calls she was moved up the ambulance list and it arrived at 3.15.
Meanwhile I was busy contacting her family who live in London and Oxford.
It is no surprise therefore that I had no time for a normal blip. This is a print of a blip photo I took a few weeks ago.
I was reminded of that famous wartime poster : KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON.
