Friday: Collared Doves Nest

A very chilly start to the day around 5°C, which barely went up to double figures.

I’d left 2 bath towels on the washing line on Wednesday and brought them in as the first spots of rain arrived.

Made compote with some leftover plums and a few of our stock of Bramley cooking apples, the blackbirds had the apple peelings and cores.

The Collared Doves have been nesting in the thick ivy on the hawthorn tree for many years, the nest is very well camouflaged :-)

This afternoon I watched “Dolly Parton:Here I Am” on BBC iPlayer, an amazing woman!

We are bracing ourselves tonight for Storm Darragh which is due tonight - https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/about-us/news-and-media/media-centre/weather-and-climate-news/2024/storm-darragh-has-been-named

It’s already very windy at 9pm …

Loads of love and hugs to all my family / Cariad Mawr
