Saturday: Casualties of Storm Darragh

The storm was raging all night, we had a few emergency messages sent to our mobile phones accompanied by a horrendous screeching alarm, it was bad enough for MrD and me hearing it but it must have been terrible for families with young children.

I was woken up around 3am by the wind and spent a couple of hours distracting myself before going back to sleep until morning.

There was a howling gale all day, neither of us went out for any length of time - I went to check on bits of the garden near the house and cleared all the leaves from the back door and drain. MrD saw that 2 panes of glass from the side of the greenhouse had been smashed probably by large pots - they’ll be replaced when the wind drops.
