Towards the Rising Sun
Backblip
We had to be up extremely early today to catch the 6.30 am ferry from Santa Cruz de la Palma to the island of Tenerife. As we approached Tenerife the sun rose up in the east beyond the low lying southern shore of the island. Simply magnificent.
The coach then took us up to our second parador of this trip, lying at a considerable height (over 2000m) and immediately below Mount Teide (3715m) in the heart of the national park. Our rooms would not be available until 3pm, so after some lunch we visited the nearby rocky formations (extra). I was only going to stroll along part of the route but ended up doing the whole circuit. These volcanic structures have an awesome beauty.,
