Life's Little Moments

Repairs...

Hubs is getting ready to try to repair our old Singer machine (the one that belonged to his grandfather, a tailor) and the first step is cleaning it.  He got some 91% isopropyl alcohol, brushes, latex gloves, wrags and went to work.  This is not the kind of photo I usually take, but I liked the way it all looked as I leaned over his shoulder.  And the next thing you know, I had a camera in hand...

It is hard to explain the joy that photography brings me, although my fellow photographers will likely understand.  It just allows me to concentrate on what I am seeing, to imagine the story, to try to capture the light, to get out of my own head.  I've never been any good at meditation, but I get the same release from photography - it allows me to be completely in the moment without all of life's noise and chaos.

I had a great yoga session this morning - Peg joined me on the virtual mat which is always fun.  I do love the connectivity that technology brings us!  And speaking of that, I will be having virtual cocktails with my besties in about an hour and a half.  We started doing this during Covid and have kept it up, usually every two weeks.  Next weekend, we will all be together.

When we picked Jax up from day care last night, the girl who works there gave me a gift bag which had been dropped off by the Blitzhund Working Dog Club for me (I was introduced to them by the owner of the day care who also has protection breed dogs).  In the bag was a wonderful hooded sweatshirt with their club lobo on it and a card signed by all 5 of the owners thanking me for creating photo memories for them.  It touched me so much.  I hope to do one (or more) of their events again next year - the dogs are such athletes and the event is fast paced and so much fun to watch and photograph. I've been wearing the sweatshirt today - it's so soft and warm...and it makes me smile.

Dark with blood orange today...
