Being interviewed by Faye H. in The Caravan

Last week out of the blue I got a message from a local journalist who now works for our local independent media outlet, Stroud Times, which publishes via their website. Faye is someone I’ve met a few times over the years mostly when she was a reporter and host of her own show on the local BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

Faye had been told about my involvement in filming the recording of Band Aid’s song ‘Do they know it’s Christmas?’, also known as ‘Feed the World’. She asked if she could interview me on video for Stroud Times, and of course I was delighted to help.

Today I went to a former woollen mill site in the Slad Valley, which is now a small business park, the location for the filming. They regularly use a small caravan as a simple set for their short interviews. Matt B. was the cameraman and we had good fun together.

Whilst Faye asked me about what I was doing there on the day in question, I had my laptop beside us showing some of the pictures I’d taken during the recording, This was to enable Matt to add copies of the original larger images when editing the video, which we were referencing on the laptop screen during the interview. You can see one of my pictures on the screen in this blip.

When we finished the filming I said I’d like to take a picture for my Blip, which I’d mentioned to them both. Matt offered to use my camera to film Faye and !, so I handed it over on an automatic setting and he kindly snapped a couple of pictures including this one.

I think the video will be available early next week so I’ll post a link to it on that day’s Blip, in case any one is interested.
