Happy 12th birthday Thomas
I managed to get all the friends’ presents wrapped this morning.
My driving licence arrived!
We set off in daylight to get through the flooded roads to reach Whitley Bay to help celebrate Thomas’s 12th birthday. Unfortunately a bit of the underside of the car (I’m totally ignorant about vehicles so that’s it) got dislodged going through deep standing water. So we had to creep along in case it fell off. The car is due for its MOT or service on Monday so hopefully they can get out the stickyback plastic and fix it.
We battled our way through rain and high winds with the family to go for a delicious Indian meal about 5-10 minutes’ walk away. - Thomas’s choice. It suited us too as it was wonderfully spiced and flavourful.
At home we sang happy birthday but the boys were too full of prawns and chicken for cake. Thomas was very happy with the money in his card and even more happy with his whittling set. The tools are fearsomely sharp but he’s a sensible boy and has a book of instructions.
We had a drink with the parents and looked at pictures on the webcam of the snowy ski resort in Bulgaria. I hope the boys enjoy it!
