Windswept

A wildly windy day. We did the morning dog walk, navigating the tree debris strewn across the roads and noting the significant wild chill factor coming from the northerly gale.

As we returned I noticed this small apple, lodged safely between some branches of one of a row of crab apple trees which grow outside the house. The fruits are being enjoyed by many different birds but particularly blackbirds.

Later I walked to the allotment to fetch spinach for the curry Andy was to make for dinner. The shelter I built in the summer had been blown over but I managed to lift it upright and put in some supporting metal poles. The gusts of wind have been very strong since then so I fear it may have been uplifted again and a better solution will need to be found. Later, Merlin I walked again in the village as the meadow is like a paddy field and the dark was descending, along with the deer.

Hoping this finds you safe and warm.
