Notre Dame - Inside and Out
12 years ago, I rented a farmhouse in Normandy with some friends and family. We took the train into Paris. The first time, I went into Notre Dame and caught this angel shadow in the entry. One of my favorite photos of the trip. A couple days later I returned, and this time became a flâneur, a person who wanders aimlessly with no set destination. Somehow, I ended up back at Notre Dame, after following a procession through the streets, and this time saw this man, I called him the St. Francis of Notre Dame, feeding the birds. The photo became my second favorite of the trip. Of course, Notre Dame's reopening this weekend triggered all these memories, so I took out the photo book I made of the trip. The pages in the extra show that day and the color version of the man. Every year I get the Jaquie Lawson Advent Calendar and this year by coincidence; we are in Paris! (another extra) I finished my solo day at a cafe, naturally, and met the loveliest Swedish couple who bought me a white rose for no reason. Yes, there is no place like Paris...
