You flew safely home
Today was our second day exploring Dundee. P had mentioned that up the road in Broughty Ferry that there was a statue to Winkie, so we had to make a pilgrimage to go see it.
We had breakfast in Dundee, I had a ridiculous waffle covered in bananas and strawberries which I sadly took a picture of before eating as it was a thing of beauty. We stroleld around the quay and went to nosy at the HMS Unicorn - the world's third oldest ship behind the U.S.S Constitution and it's sister ship which is down south somwhere. It's a funny looking thing as it has a roof. It wa built just after the Napoleonic wars and wasn't ever used as a war ship, so it was never given masts or rigging. The roof was put on to preserve it and it served as a powder ship for a while, then a training ship, but if it needed to go anywhere it had to be towed.
We then headed to Broughty Ferry to see Winkie and it was such a nice day following the storm that we had a cold walk in the sunshine along the beach. We liked the plaque for Winkie which read "Winkie was awarded the PDSA medal for delivering a message in very difficult circumstances, which led to the saving of lives". It was a cute statue, though positioned in a way that made it difficult for a good shot of the detail and the view!
