….............And the storm continues.............
This morning before I set out for my walk, Ann got a message on her 'dippers & swimmers' WhatsApp group to say that the NCI had recorded force 8 winds. Obviously we still went out because we don't have a garden and I needed to go to the toilet. We trekked around all the beaches, and yes, it was pretty windy, but no where near as bad as it was yesterday. We have since found out, that the wind speed in St Ives yesterday at 4pm (when Ann got blown over, see our BLIP yesterday) was 93mph.
I found a manky old ball but I didn't find Ann's purple glove or my green lead that I lost yesterday I've found 4 manky old balls in the last week and my 'manky old balls box' is full to overflowing. Yay!
Guess what else I found down on the beach?................... A little seal (see extras). I suddenly started barking and as I'm not a 'barky' dog, Ann wondered what was wrong with me. And then she realised I'd spotted a baby seal. I immediately got clipped back onto my lead while Ann went to investigate. Not that I would have done anything to the little seal cos I was a bit scaredy. It's actually quite common to find seals on the beach and normally Ann doesn't worry about them, because they're usually resting and are able to find their own way back into the sea. However, this one was a baby and Ann was really worried about him (or her) because she thought he might be disorientated and not able to find his own way back into the sea. And also the sea was really rough and she thought he might have got swept in because he wasn't strong enough to swim to where he wanted to go.
Long story short................... Ann reported him to the 'Marine Rescue People', who said that they would send someone out to check on him. Phew!!! We really hope that he was able to get back into the sea and reunite with the rest of his family.
….............And in other news................... We think 'Storm Darragh' is finally leaving us. Yay! Apparently it's been 'Force 8 Gales' today, though it most certainly has not been anywhere near as bad yesterday. …..........And my human is actually thinking of joining the 'Dippers & Swimmers' for a sea swim tomorrow morning?!!!! #watchthisspace
