No 25 Northiam

Northiam arrives at Tenterden Town station with the up Santa Special from its namesake station, Northiam!

We ran the full 7 train service bang on time. Each train pretty much full to capacity. Only a few tables for Premier Santa Experience available in the newly outshopped and beautiful restaurant car Diana.

What an awful day of weather. At least the winds subsided as the day went on. The rain fell in torrents especially later in the afternoon. I was lucky to have a trainee whose misfortune it was to go outside to work the gates and collect the token. I did take pity and had my own turn in the downpour. Despite the weather we had a good day and so did our visitors.

We eventually finished at 6.00pm having signed on at 8.10am which meant getting up at 6.20am on a Sunday!
