HMS Prince of Wales

The Royal Navy Flagship  HMS Prince Of Wales visiting Liverpool this week.I took a couple of hours off this morning to go and have a look. It certainly looks much more impressive on the tv. I was surprised just how small it looked.
In the extra that shows the full ship, Camel Lairds Ship Yard can be seen in the background.My grandad worked as a riveter on HMS Ark Royal which was commissioned during WW2.
Liverpool has a long and proud connection with both the Royal and merchant navy.This afternoon the crew of HMS Prince of Wales marched through the streets of Liverpool.

A very dull and cold day.
