If you can't beat them...

Robin ( Erithacus rubecula )

I took my usual just in case shots in the morning, which was just as well as it started to rain later in the day.  Guests left the Lodge this morning so we headed to the Lodge after lunch.  We thought we would start the cleaning, however very unusually we are spending the night there ready for an early appointment there tomorrow morning.

The Robin was posing nicely in the Osmanthus delavayi (sorry don't know a common name).  I took a few quick shots and this one appealed most.  The last census of UK robins estimated there to be 7,400,000 territories, so approaching 15,000,000 individuals.  The population has increased by around 50% since the late 1960s
