Sunset at "our" lakes

So we did all the usual day-to-day stuff, but we also took a good walk today. The snow has mostly disappeared but the temperature has been around or below freezing so the lakes are frozen except where there is some current, some flow, as here in the photo. This is the inlet to the lake and when we got here at half-past- one the sun had already gone down but we still have 90 minutes of dusk before it actually gets dark.
When we got back from  this walk I continued past the house and down the hill to our "other" lake. I walked across the ice to the small island with an old beaver lodge on the edge. (The ice was very solid and if I'd misjudged and fallen through I'd have only been in thigh-deep water.) The combination of sunset, clouds, and reflections meant I had to add an extra too. It's taken from the beaver lodge, where the water rarely freezes so there's a mix of black water and ice.
Winter is definitely here even if the snow is sadly lacking. As we walked down the hill we could feel the temperature dropping. Home was -4°C, but down the hill on the lower lake it was probably -10°C.
I do love winter!
