Little Drummer Boy
Most of the ornaments on my tree have some sort of memory attached to them while others, like this one, are just cute. I bought this years ago back when everything wasn't made out of plastic - this is all constructed of tin and its very light weight. To photograph this, I took it off the tree and hung it several feet away. I wanted to get that lovely bokeh that happens with Christmas lights and the key is having the subject in front of the lights with enough distance that the lights blur. Mission accomplished.
Had lunch with a friend today. She had her two Irish Water Spaniels at the dog event that I photographed last weekend so we talked about that, dogs in general, people we know in the community and all the other things you chat about with friends. Very enjoyable. Unfortunately, when we went to leave, it was pouring rain and my umbrella was in the car. We huddled under her umbrella and made the mad dash to cars. I had planned to run into town and do some errands but I decided to postpone that.
Hubs is off today so he is working on cleaning the Singer while Jax snoozes on the sofa and a fire blazes in the fireplace. I turned the tree lights on to shoot this and am leaving them on because it is so very cozy in here now. I'm mid-way through my 66th book of the year so I may change into sweats and curl up with the book. It's that kind of day!
