Sally Mair - Loving life

Popocapé...kettle!

I had a lazy start to the day today, my diary was actually empty for a change. I got all the washing done from the weekend visitors, I wanted to make sure I got rid of any traces of infection as soon as possible.
I then spent ages trying to get myself back into a secure website I'd been on this morning but which kept locking me out telling me my security question answers were wrong. I ended up having to create a new account and start all over again transferring the information to regain access. What a waste of time! I spent over two hours on it and then didn't get done all I needed to to do.
I can assure you I haven't forgotten how to spell my mother's maiden name nor the name of my first pet and I'm pretty sure I know my date of birth - not convinced I can remember what I had for breakfast though.....aargh?
I do wonder if I'm starting to get a bit wandered, I'm definitely forgetting things. Just as well I'm an effective diary and calender user.
Colin got back early afternoon today from his mum's. Frustratingly the buyer of her flat pulled out at the last minute just after they'd emptied it of most of the furniture and contents. It's going to have to go back on the market and rather than looking nice and homely and lived in as it did, it is now going to be empty. It is so unfair, the Scottish house buying system used to be so solid and bids were binding but not any longer it seems.
My blip today is a lovely little spirit kettle which Colin has brought down. I love the fact that the hallmark on the removable collar it sits in means that I know that it was made in Birmingham in 1933 and that I know who the maker was. Like most of these kettles, it's plated as it is on a little burner, but it has a removable solid silver collar which fits into the stand. So pretty.
We went to bridge this evening which was rather mixed, we came third of the five tables by the smallest possible margin and I was really pleased with the way I played some of the hands. The good news is that our membership has dropped to a level where we wondered if we would still be viable. In the last few weeks though three new people have joined - they are all called Alan!
Apologies I have read through your blips tonight but haven't commented, I'm so tired that I'm heading straight off to bed, not very early but earlier than usual. I'll do enough Duolingo to give me double time tomorrow then that will be it.....To sleep, perchance to dream..........
