Best Laid Plans...

.... for doing a whole list of errands were stymied by freezing rain. Drat! 

I know better now than to tempt disaster ..falling is not an option!  Daring to tread on those icy sidewalks or drive on slippery roads? NOT! Errands would just have to wait for a better day.

But there was an upside to being housebound; it was a chance to spend some time chatting with Elaine next door as she too is wise enough to know when to stay home. She came over for tea and we had a good long chat by the fire; we don't seem to do that often these days, so that was a treat. By the time she left, the ice was melting and she was off to walk her dog. 

Not me, I was going nowhere. Instead I sat down at the window to watch the birds come out of hiding and return to the feeders in hopes that there would be a blip-op.. and sure enough...there was Mr. Cardinal! (extra) 
Those birds seldom let me down.
