Anniversary Games 200m

Well the forecast was rain, instead it was sweltering! I was armed with jumpers and rainproof clothes, remembered the sun cream but not the sunhats! Hence being forced to by a £15 British athletics cap in order to stop the girlchild having sunstroke. (I tried for a cheap one in the Westfield shopping centre before we entered the Olympic Park, but the shops are now in autumn mode!)

The girlchild had a fantastic day. She did some athletics, wore her new school trainers, proper nike ones that she can now do the laces on, had an ice lolly, took lots of photos, saw Jessica Ennis-Hill, all be it from a distance and Mo Farah too. She also got to see Felix Sanchez and thanks to the relays we both got to see Usian Bolt and Kim Collins. I had though are seats weren't great when we first got in there but was pleased to find the Men's pole vault taking place close to us, definitely worth watching ;-)

60,000 people take a long time to leave so it was close to 8pm when a very tired little girl rolled into bed. We have to be up early in the morning so chances are she will try to sleep in.
