BeWilderwood Wee!
A whole day out at BeWilderwood after it was recommended by our friends who live in Melbourne, Australia! It was fantastic, I wish it was closer, but definately somewhere we will visit again.
Basically it is a big outdoor adventure playground, but it is themed around Boggles (who live in Bogs), Twiggles (who live in the trees) and Grubbles who wander around and sleep where ever they are at night. There is also a Crocklebog called Mildred! There are BeWilderwood books which tell the adventures of the Boggles and Twiggles etc.
The great thing was that all the equipment was big enough for adults to go on, so our 5 and 2.5 year old could go on everything with a little help. Also right beside things that Will was too small to go on, eg the zip wire, was a toddler zip wire. We didn't have a single issue over William wanting to go on something that was too big for him because there were always options.
There was a Boggle village in the rushes and a Twiggle Village in the trees, a Far tree that has shoes growing from it and a fantastic story teller who got all the kids dressed up and involved in the story (C was the Far Tree, with a stripey shoe hanging from her hand, I mean branch). I had so, so many shots, but I loved this one of C, which although isn't perhaps the best, sums up the excitment of the day.
We arrived at 10.30 and left at 5.30 and could have stayed longer. The big plus was that the food was really reasonably priced, so we fed the kids tea there having had a picnic for lunch, so we could roll them into bed when we got home.
Brilliant day, thanks Steph for pointing us in the direction of BeWilderwood.
