The Three Degrees
Mist down over the hills this morning, and chilly with it. I don't think the temperature's risen above 3 degrees all day - I thought I could hear somebody singing out there!!
I haven't been further than the deck today. I almost forced myself out for a walk, but it was so cold and gloomy that I Blipped a polyanthus and came straight back in! This is one from a pack I bought in Homebase last year - they seemed a very beautiful and unusual range of soft shades and I'll be dividing them and planting them out somewhere.
I discovered recently that the local library holds a competition each month called 'Flash Fiction'. It can be a poem or an article on the subject indicated by the word on the leaflet - this month it's 'Winter' - and up to but not exceeding 500 words, so today I sat down and wrote a poem which I shall send in.
Quote of the Day: 'A poet can survive everything but a misprint.' - Oscar Wilde.
