Nostalgic afternoon

It was the Civic Society Christmas dinner today Afterwards entertainment was provided by Clive, a veteran singer and entertainer, a professional for decades, who ran through his repertoire of pop standards and  stories of the big names he worked with. And pop stars who died young. It was like an afternoon in a care home, a vision of things to come. Just to complete a day of retirement living  we went to Preston sea front on the way home, parked the car and looked at Torquay across the rough sea but we didn’t fall asleep.
