Another very dull and drizzly day. I got more jobs done - a Sainsbury’s delivery; hopefully the last big leaf collection in the back garden; wrapped and sent a parcel and my last three Xmas cards though the post; and got my ticket ready for the Holkham Xmas candlelight tour tomorrow. A quick photo for blip of a stained glass Xmas ornament hanging at my kitchen window. I was pleased that the neighbour behind cut the hedge beyond my fence down to fence height the other day, it looks nice and neat now.

I also printed out my Xmas craft challenge instructions and got the materials out. Each year five of us friends do a Xmas craft challenge set by last year’s winner, which was D. The challenge is to make a centrepiece for a Christmas table, and she sent us all identical boards, plastic tray (to sit on the board) and floral foam inside the tray (the wet variety). Natural materials gathered from the wild or our garden should make up 95% or the display.  The deadline is 20th Dec and we then send two photos from different angles via WhatsApp for our friend J to independently judge who the winner is. The winner is then sent a small prize by the challenge setter. I love seeing what everyone comes up with and how different they all are, although I suspect there will be more similarity this year.
