The Hills are Alive ....
I headed over the theatre this afternoon for a festive lunch with members of the u3a followed by a matinee performance of "The Sound of Music".
The lunch was tasty (turkey with all the trimmings, apple strudel, a glass of prosecco and coffee) and the show was as good as the reviews said it was. Kirsty Findlay as Marie was outstanding and the children playing the younger Von Trapps were excellent.
We hadn't realised when we'd booked that it was a relaxed performance. This meant that the lights weren't fully dimmed and people could come and go as they pleased (although very few did so). The cast came out and introduced themselves which was nice.
I also got tickets for Hamilton in Glasgow next year. I will be going with A, who is a huge fan, and it will be fun seeing it together.
My holidays have got off the a good start :-)
