While on my runs

The table was cleared ...

... and everyone had gone home.

S' brother has been working in IT at West Coast DHB in the deep south. With all the cutbacks ordered by the Government to reduce the 'over-spend' he chose to accept redundancy, and retire back to Auckland where his family are. To welcome him back, his younger daughter (L) and S collaborated on preparing a feast. The first time we have used the new 'outside room' with guests. The light over the table was only put in on Tuesday . Twelve of us managed to fit around the table; although one was happier in his carrycot. It wasn't until they had all gone home t6hat I realised that I had not taken a photo all day, hence the nearly empty table.

The new (although it is now more than a year old) decided that rather than costs having increased leaving health services with a funding deficit, there is an overspend. A significant number of the leading players in the Government have been shown to have links to/with the Atlas group, a right wing multinational think tank which has been implicated in similar approaches in other countries. David Seymour has very strong links, and has become an Associate Minister of Health, Education, and others. He has fingers in every pie, and is driving the Government towards. selling off services such as health to become a money making venture for the wealthy who do not need any more.
