Funny weather

It was a big cleaning day today, visitors to be collected this afternoon so everything has to be sorted.
Part way through doing the kitchen (my room, Sue does the rest of the house) I noticed that the light was rather strange outside. I grabbed the camera (grateful for the break) and took some shots. The sun was out in an almost clear sky in the front of the house but there was a bank of thick bark clouds coming up from the back. This highlighted the trees and half the hedge against the dark background. The trees actually looked more impressive in the flesh than in the picture but you get the general idea.
We had to go to Norwich station to pick up our sister in law. We left early to make sure she was not left waiting. As we drove we were monitoring the trains progress and it was getting later and later. As we now had time we stopped of in a shopping park to get a couple of things, still watching the arrival time going further backwards. We then got a phone call from SinL telling us the train was terminating at Ely, totally the opposite direction to Norwich. We turned round and drove the 57 miles to pick her up, arriving 15 minutes after she did. Some silver lining to this tale, because the train was so late she was entitled to a refund under the Delay Repay scheme. Having completed the forms the  refund on her rail fare totaled 100%. Now that is a result.
Nothing much else happened today but its village Christmas quiz night tomorrow. None of us are very bright so the only thing we will probably get out of it is a large number of empty wine bottles.
