Mickey's Back!

And we have missed him! 

My rather young bachelor neighbour P who professes to not be a "festive" fellow, came home from work a couple of Christmases ago, to find this giant inflatable Mickey Mouse on his lawn. Knowing his "bah humbug" nature, his buddies had done it as a practical joke...but P decided to play along and left Mickey up, smiling and waving at us for the rest of the holiday. The fact that such frivolity was so out of character for P made it all the more amusing for us...

But then Mickey went into hiding for a couple of years and did not reappear until today.  We suspect that P's next-door neighbour of Inflatable Overkill fame, convinced him to resurrect Mickey as his three kids just love inflatables..and Mickey is SO huge and lovable and it would make them ever so happy. It appears that P gave in. 

Mickey had not done well in storage, what with mice encounters and all, so P had to do some first aid with a roll of packing tape to get him to hold air... but he did get him to rise to the occasion and from what I can see so far, he is holding his own out there. I do fear though that this will be an up and down time for poor Mickey; those "bandaids" are not likely to survive the wind, rain, sleet and snow for long! 

But for now, P's front lawn is looking very "festive"!
