Paul's gingerbread Christmas tree
The Feast Day of Saint Lucy. Born in Syracuse, Scily. Died 304. Sicily. Patron saint of The blind, light, sufferers of eye diseases.
It has been a very still, dry cold day, and no rain as yet but it is forecast for this afternoon.
I had sent off to Etsy for a star shaped glass dish as it looked beautiful and useful. Unfortunately the seller got my order and someone else's muddled up, and she sent me two brass thistle design candlesticks. We emailed her and she apologised. She even refunded the payment for the glass dish and contacted the receiver of it asking her to second it on to me. So I went to the Post Office and paid for the candlesticks to go to the rightful buyer, using signed tracked next day delivery. It will hopefully get there safely tomorrow. I emailed the receipt to the Etsy seller. My life is very smooth normally thank God, so all this was a bit outside the box, but it is sorted now.
Paul has spent hours this morning, bless him, making gingerbread from raw ingredients to build the gingerbread Christmas tree. I have taken these photos for my collage, but we still have the Royal icing to make, to fix all the star shapes together. Needless to say, Paul is in my good books for all his sterling efforts.
We are having a pause now. Paul is playing his guitar in his Music room and I am crocheting and watching a lovely film called A Merry Scottish Christmas, on Xmas24+1.
Take care everyone, keep warm and thank you for visiting my site today.
