Geographical Club dinner

After a morning of teaching, it was down to London to criss-cross the city and through the Rutland Estate to the Royal Geographical Society. Up to the Council Room for drinks and to chat to tonight's lecturer: the best-selling author Tim Marshall and several other people of interest. Chat to Joe the Director as well and then down into the Ondaatje Theatre. Had a reserved seat for the lecture, which was excellent. After that it was into the Education Room for the Geographical Club dinner: the first I've attended. Three tasty courses and lots of red wine. Port to end the evening. Some interesting conversations. Out to walk through to Knightsbridge past Harrods and to my hotel - one I'd stayed in before. A lovely evening and part of my new RGS experience for the next three and a half years.
