Early start and late finish

Not a good night's sleep in the hotel. Up at 5 to leave and get the first train out of King's Cross with a Prêt breakfast. Empty carriage to myself. Train got to Cambridge and was then cancelled as the driver hadn't turned up. To Ely eventually, and a long day - with various meetings and teaching and covering for absent colleagues. At the end of the day I spent three hours working on marking and some planning. Drove over to the Cathedral car park and to the Royal Standard pub for the staff Christmas dinner. Good company and food, and a late night drive home.
