SongWave
Today's the day . . . . . . . . . . . for a concert
I can't remember if I told you that I had decided to give myself a bit of a sabbatical from choir this term? I just felt that I needed a break from the usual routine in the run up to Christmas - when there was always a weekend of choir concerts, just at the time when you needed to do lots of other things.
Well we're at that weekend right now and tonight I went to the first concert in Twynholm Village Hall - but this time as one of the audience, not as one of the singers. And I have to say, it was lovely to be on the listening end - and just sit back and enjoy it all. The theme was 'Wassail' - which comes from the Anglo Saxon/Old English Waes Hael - meaning 'good health'. Wassailing is the remnant of old pagan traditions which later became associated with carols and the Christian Christmas celebrations.
SongWave performed all the songs with great gusto and obvious enjoyment - and it was a thoroughly good concert ......................!
