Midwinter Approaches
But as the wind has dropped and temperatures lifted slightly, it almost felt like a hint of spring today. It won't last!
Approaching midsummer I often took Meg out to Bailey Bridge and walked by the estuary around sunset time. I did much the same today ... six hours earlier than I did in June. While I was treated to some lovely sunsets, I remember needing my woolly hat as winds from the arctic blew in. I needed it today too, the temperatures not dissimilar.
A grey day mostly, a little sun in the middle of the day when I did some overdue weeding and tidying in the garden before lunch. Earlier I picked up the car having got the green light to drive it until it's fixed or the end of the year, whichever happens first! The seasonal closures extend the ten day allowance to the end of the month. I did another session of glazing after our walk, the village almost finished now. Hoping they'll be fired before I go away next week but if not there'll be something to look forward to on my return.
