MRS. HCB'S LITTLE HELPER

Hello Lovely Blippers,

JH Ted here - and I just wanted you to know that I have been very kind this week and because of that I was chosen to go with Mrs. HCB when she went out shopping this morning to Morrisons and be her little helper.

I know that Morrisons give lots of food to us for the Community Fridge and also lots of their customers give food and other things to go in the Bags of Hope, so it was good to be able to chat to one of the Managers in there this morning, when Mrs. HCB told him how grateful we all were.  He was very interested to see me in the trolley, so Mrs. HCB explained to him about Blip and told him that I had been chosen to help her today.  One of my R.A.C.K.s - Random Acts of Christmas Kindness for those who don’t already know.

You can see that I had a great time - in fact, at 7.30 a.m. there were hardly any customers in there - so I was able to find lots of things that reminded me of Christmas.  I think that dear Admirer would have giggled if she had seen me amongst the Brussels Sprouts and leeks - we love sprouts, but not everyone does!

I wonder if you have bought any of the things you can see in the collage - Roses Chocolates are ALWAYS a good thing to have and so are Lindt Lindor chocolates, and of course, we both thought of Mr. T when I jumped up onto this shelf.  As far as Marmite goes, we all know you either love it or hate it, but I really don’t think that I fancy Marmite Oven Bake Peanuts - although knowing Mrs. HCB she would love them!

Next we saw some more of Mrs. HCB’s favourites, Ferroro Rocher - the trouble with chocoholics is that they can never have JUST ONE - and you all know that Mrs. HCB is a Ch****olic - but then I guess that’s marginally better than being an Al***olic!

I thought I would look good as a Christmas decoration, so jumped up into the Christmas tree and I think you will all agree that I do look rather fetching, although I say so myself.

I rather fancied the Spiderman jacket and it was so warm and snuggly, but although it was in the sale, it was still a little too big for me, so we decided not to buy it - although I thought it might fit Leighton!

Mrs. HCB did do some rearranging - well who would have guessed?  She moved one of the Rudi the Reindeer cakes so that I could sit amongst them - wasn’t that kind of her?  However, we decided not to buy one - at least, not today.

And last but not least, what would Christmas be without a few nuts? Mrs. HCB got all gooey-eyed and said that she remembered when she had some nuts in her stocking along with a small chocolate, an orange, an apple and perhaps a small toy and sometimes even a two shilling piece or even half a crown - but not much else - that was a long time ago, of course, and some of you may remember those days!

When Mrs. HCB got to the self service tills, she realised she wouldn’t be able to sort out her shopping, so they very kindly asked Maria to open up a proper till for her - wasn’t that kind?  Of course, you all know what Mrs. HCB does -  she blessed Maria, who said she was very stressed today, with one of her little hearts - and would you believe, the one she pulled out of her pocket had the word “Peace” on it.  Maria said she was very grateful and would try to remember that as the day went on.

Mrs. HCB asked me to tell you that Mr. HCB is feeling better, and he thanks you all for your good wishes, although he's not quite 100%,  but they have both been out this morning, after Mrs. HCB got back from shopping, delivering Bags of Hope to families who are finding it hard to manage, especially at this time of year.  They both had to go because the Bags are so heavy that Mrs. HCB wouldn’t be able to lift them - they make a good team!.

Hope you have enjoyed seeing me around the supermarket - I had great fun and I was so glad that I could help Mrs. HCB.  Just a reminder to you all to BE KIND - because you never know what someone is going through, especially at Christmas.

Love to you all - JH Ted xx
