Life is a Challenge!

OUR NEWEST CHRISTMAS ACQUISITION

We don’t always buy something new for our Christmas decorations, especially not at the end of May, but when we went to a little Blacksmith Forge at Allerford, whilst we were on holiday in Porlock, as soon as I saw this Manger scene, I said that I liked it.

Mr. HCB said if I really liked it, then we could find out how much it cost and I could have it - as a Christmas present!  We went into the office to pay, to be told that they only took cash, but that we could take it, and pay for it online.  We were very surprised, but guess we must have looked honest enough, so that’s what we did.  It was quite expensive, but it is just so simple and beautiful and I am really happy with it, so here it is.

In other news, Mr. HCB is better, although his face is still swollen from the infection, but he is not as bad as he was yesterday so we are hoping that over the weekend, the infection will clear up, ready for his emergency dental visit on Monday morning.

The other news which has upset me is that my electric throw has decided it will “give up the ghost” and has stopped working!  Quelle horreur, as the French would say!  I have rung the company three times and emailed them, but no response as yet.  It is still under guarantee, as it was only purchased in March this year, so we will see what happens.

An awful day weatherwise, but I brought a smile to the face of a young mum earlier when I delivered a Bag of Hope to her, so a good morning at least.

Take care and stay warm - it is certainly a bone-chilling and wet day out there.  Have a great weekend.  M xx
