Down Ashton Gate

Kick off 12.30. We were there very early. My son L, S my neighbour opposite, and L’s dad visiting from Cornwall. We were so excited:) There was a Christmas children’s disco beforehand, which was done very well - lots of fun, the inevitable songs, artificial snow, an engaging DJ. Going to football is certainly different nowadays, much more welcoming to all people. In the concourse they were selling ‘chickpea and spinach’ pies along with the meat ones:) We had fantastic seats, behind the south end goal, high enough to see everything. The team came out to warm up and also to applaud the fans, who were chanting and applauding them The whole of the first half, they played like Arsenal or Barcelona! In terms of possession and accurate passing. But didn’t score. My 4th pic is in the bustling concourse at half time. I like the logo. Nicely ambiguous:) In the second half city scored from a perfect free kick just below us. But QPR scored a kind of comedy goal so despite being the better team by miles, City had to settle for a draw. It was so disappointing. We believe, but we don’t win!
In the evening L and my dil went to two gigs - the second was til 4 am. They both (age 30) claimed they were too old to last the course. I think I heard them come in a little before 3 so they were right.
