Christmas Carol Service

Tonight am just home from a carol service out in the country. It’s a service I have often taken over the last few years when we have been short of ministers. I didn’t take part tonight as when asked had enough on my plate. Decided at my age it’s OK to say no. It’s such a beautiful church and it won the architects award  for New Zealand in 1931. It is built of local stone and doesn’t have a nail in it. The acoustics are amazing. Have put in extras some taken in the interior. An impressive pulpit to preach from , made from such beautiful wood. The font is made out of  the hub of an old dray wheel. Look at them in large, shows them up better. The windows are beautiful but the light wasn’t right to get a good one. The church was gifted to the area by land owners of the time.
