Swaying in the breeze

At the rear of our property there is a vacant block of land designated as a green buffer. It was donated to the council together with twelve other similar blocks in the area with a caveat "never to be sold".
I built a small garden in the corner and planted from seed several palm trees three of which have grown quite large. I have since been told that they are considered a pest and not recommended for Australian conditions.
As they sway I can imagine myself at the beach on a hot day. Note the Crucifix Orchid below.
