The Christmas bus

I use public transport as much as I can - and was dismayed when the local bus timetable was cut back after Covid.

Today I stepped on board the T5 to find the interior festooned with coloured lights, sparkles and glitter. The driver was Sarah who I got to know when she started on the buses earlier this year. Driving public service vehicles is her career choice; she used to take coaches all over Europe, then she worked in Bristol where she met her husband, Adrian (also a bus driver). They moved to West Wales and together took up employment with our local bus company, job-sharing the regular route that runs beween the neighbouring counties of Sir Benfro/Pembrokeshire and Sir Ceredigion/Cardiganshire.
Sarah and Adrian always look smart and well turned out [not all the drivers do], and are helpful and efficient. Their bus decor (they also did it for Hallowe'en) is entirely on their own initiative and, if you chose to make a donation,  raises money for the local animal rescue centre.

It's a simple gesture but it bring a smile to passengers' faces and somehow makes me feel that not everything is wrong with the world.

Extra: Sarah and Eira the red dragon that's travelling alongside her.
