Chimney Pot Garden

This chimney is not only sprouting two television aerials, but also some grasses and a couple of unknown plants. What tenacity! How do those plants survive up there, with little or no soil in which to put down roots? 

Spotted on my late afternoon walk as I delivered the last of my local Christmas cards. Which just proves that you can’t stop a blipper from noticing the unusual, even while busying herself with everyday jobs … especially when there's a beautiful sunset sky as a backdrop.
