The Princess and the Pea

Today, we visited our friends M and P in Salisbury, joined by our Basingstoke friends  L and P. Salisbury P is recovering from heart surgery ( replacement valve and double bypass) which he had 5 weeks ago. He is making an extraordinarily good recovery and had no trouble walking into the city centre and back ( a total of 2 miles). We visited NT Mompesson House where six rooms had each been decorated to represent a different fairy tale. This bedroom was dressed to represent the story of the Princess and the Pea. I think this completes our visits to local NT properties this Christmas!  Today's display was not as impressive as those at Mottisfont or Hinton Ampner, but it is a much smaller property. However it is always a pleasure to visit Salisbury, and the cathedral and the Close were very quiet today.
