Das Boot

Not quite a submarine, but a barge stranded after the flood. The River Ouse in York rises about 24-36 hours after the rain falls up in the hills...

So, I stopped and chatted with the guy hanging out of the window on the barge, who was having a fag and a coffee while surveying the er, water-filled gap.

He actually wasn't that bothered but just wondering what to tell them at work...

H's advice? "Just ring in and tell 'em it's up to yer bottom bracket, mate. For forks sake, how can they expect you to get in?!"
