Awesome egg basket

This gift, which has gone into immediate use, has been made by my friend Marian using materials from her property, most of which are pest plants or weeds. 

Until now I have been using an old plastic bowl in which to collect the eggs. This is a definite step up. A present like this is priceless to me.

Bean and I saw Kelli the vet today. She has diagnosed Lupoid Onychodystrophy, or nail bed problems due to an overactive immune system. Without removing an entire nail and analysing it, it is impossible to be 100% sure, so it is a well-educated guess. 

If Beanio responds well to the steroids she has been prescribed it will more or less confirm the diagnosis. And she is also on (more) antibiotics to deal with the infection. 

My bank account took another beating, so I hope this is the answer...

We had a fabulous walk in the seaside sun at Kakanui before going to the vet. It was dead low tide, so the aroma of rotting seaweed was all around us. Bean resisted rolling in it thankfully.
