Christmas cheer
I know, it’s a blipday! Having failed yesterday, I made more effort today and this is what I came up with. At least there’s a bit of sparkle!
We went over to R and H’s for lunch today. They’ve been in their new house for around a month now, and it’s still impressively full of boxes. It’s bigger than our house and has lots of cupboards, but is quite a bit smaller than their previous house, so they have their work cut out.
R made another delicious Middle East inspired dish of fried halloumi with tomatoes and spinach, and gave me the recipe for the soup she left us, which I will definitely be trying. We discussed plans for Christmas Day, and then went for a short walk round Stokesley. They are right in the centre, convenient for everything, and the town has a nice mixture of posh shops and sensible ones, eg butchers and greengrocers. Also a good balance of eating places from fish and chips through pubs, the local Thai place, to smart restaurants. It looks like a good place to live.
Back at S’s mum’s now; we’ll have a few nibbles and watch a film later.
