Nicky and her Nikon

Christmas sparkle

Last night I did go to camera club and we had an excellent speaker, one of the best we have had since I joined the club - unfortunately I had to leave at half time as I was just too tired to stay awake. By then I had been awake for over 22 hours! I slept quite well although I did wake up at 3am and lie awake for about 2 hours, but hopefully each night the jet lag will improve.

Today was depressingly grey all day, but at least we can start counting down to the shortest day and then we should notice a difference in the light going forward.

It was another very busy day. I enjoyed walking with Xena in the woods, and I had some more laundry to do but now I am finally up to date with that - I also did mountains of ironing today.

This morning I had to go to the hospital for a follow up appointment with the dermatologist who removed my mole. I was phoned and asked to come in before we went away but I had to postpone the appointment as were were away. When the dermatologist first checked the mole on my face he said it did not look ominous at all, and it was my choice whether I wanted it removed. I opted to get it removed, which is just as well as it has turned out to be a basal cell carcinoma. I was reassured not to worry as apparently skin cancer does not spread to cancer in other organs (well not at this stage) but was told to get checked again in 4-6 months time as it is very likely that I will get more of these. A childhood spent in sunny South Africa when sunscreen was not a thing, is to blame.

I had a list of errands to do and they all got ticked off, tomorrow I need to wrap my final Christmas presents and get some images printed for our next club competition which is soon after the new year.

This is a little Christmas decoration we brought back from Vietnam, I thought it was very sweet. I have isolated it by blurring the rest of the tree. We have Christmas decorations from many of the countries we have visited over the years, I know others also do that as it is a nice reminder of one's travels.

Tonight I have book club, I hope I last longer than I did last night!
