Life in Sunny Dubai

Masquerade

(17/12/24)

I decided to take the day off today as Diane said she was free for coffee, and the office Winter Party (as they are now called) was scheduled for 6-11 PM.

I tackled some personal admin before Diane picked me up. I can't believe how wanting to do something as simple as print and fill out a form can be so challenging. I completed it in the time I had, but it tested every bit of patience I possess!

Thankfully the coffee and chat with Diane more than made up for it. The weather is perfect at the moment. It is neither hot nor cold. We sat in our usual place, looking out at the Creek. I had no camera, which Diane was happy about. She is very patient with G and me!

Coffee turned into lunch (at Wokyo) before I finally got home and put in a couple of hours in the office. I'm so glad I sorted out my outfit last night. It made it a breeze to get ready tonight. G dropped me off at the - tada - Palazzo Versace! One of the reasons to attend is because it is so close to home.

As you can see, it was an elegant affair. I loved the decorations and many of my colleagues took the trouble to follow the dress code, which was formal with a mask. I have to record the surprise of seeing our CEO, Lord Steven Carter, walking towards our table and chatting with two of my colleagues and me! That was so unexpected, I didn't even think of taking a photograph. The evening included a talent competition.

My extras are of me with my team and the hotel lobby. Home, and in bed by midnight. A tame evening in comparison to previous years.
