Dome decorations from the top deck
I photographed the Dome and its Christmas livery from the top deck of the bus this evening. I was on my way back home after my first hospital appointment about my cataracts.
Other appointments today have been with the council to drop off some items at the dump, Caitlin to pick up some of Paddy's brewing residue for my compost heap, Emma's family to collect some apples, the supermarkets to stock up on non-perishable items for next week, and Rachel on campus to help her with a couple of applications.
I had a lovely encounter on campus with a former colleague. When he heard that I had made the journey to help Rachel, he gave me a hug and told me that he is convinced that he would never have been promoted to Reader without my feedback on his draft application several years ago. I can't remember the advice that I gave him at the time, but it must have been pretty general because I know nothing about his subject area. (He is now a professor.)
Bruce is still in hospital :-(
Exercise today: 1 hour on the exercise bike; walking (16,717 steps).
