All that remains
Of Fraserburgh Station at the terminus of the Maud to Fraserburgh branch of the Formartine and Buchan Railway is the engine shed. This was built on the site of former boil yards - a relic of the small, short lived and unsuccessful Fraserburgh whaling fleet which operated in the decade prior to the opening of the station in 1865. The engine shed and part of the station yard are now used as a fish yard.
The station closed to passengers in 1965 and to goods traffic in 1979.
