I'm not a foodie, as those of you who are might have spotted. But my day of cooking went fine, alleviated in the morning by opening this box of beautiful eggs and, just as I was taking the last things out of the oven in the afternoon, by a friend dropping round. We swapped seedy flapjacks (hers) and warm cheese scones (mine).
