Changeable

A quick visit to the golf course today to discuss the almost finished project.

Thence to struggle with 21st century retail. A week or so ago I bought a Nintendo handheld game as a birthday present from a well-known high street retailer of such items who were recently saved from bankruptcy. The chap in the shop helpfully pointed-out that its mains adapter was sold separately but he thought the equivalent for the previous version would fit. So I didn't buy one.

Today, I discovered that the old adapter does not fit the new machine. So I went to another, much larger, branch of the same shop. There they do sell the game console but not the adapter. When I asked how people who spend almost £200 on the machine manage to use it without power, the guy in the shop shrugged helplessly.

Three shops later I did manage to buy one. And they wonder why people use online retailers...
