Tree planting in Hatfield Allotment
A lovely day out doors, planting trees with the volunteers at Hatfield Peverel Allotment. Jamie arranged it with the Essex Forest Initiative and the planting conditions were perfect with several of the Allotment society joining in. Many lovely people joined in including an impressive young lad volunteer who joined us with his grandmother. We planted upwards of 600 native, sapling trees on the boundary of the allotments. I shall be sure to make a trip in a few years to check on their progress.
G's last day in Basildon - He was proud to have a surprise presentation where he found out just how much respect his colleagues and friends have for him. Amusing and poiniant comments made in the booklet that they wrote to accompany the presentation and 5 times more than average raised in the whip-round! He will definitely be sorely missed.
